Big words are important for love — on Valentine's Day evening, Wroclaw citizens had an opportunity to declare their love on a 120-metre-big interactive mural. Over a hundred of such declarations appeared on a wall of the tenement at Pułaskiego Street. What did the lovers wish each other?
The wishes were very original. As befits the "Meeting Place", the wishes were in several languages, including English and Indonesian. Lovers did not only use well-known poems and rhymes, where "moments without the other person are eternity", but also wrote their own, hidden messages, calling their beloved ones in a caressing way, such as "Pajączek" (a little spider) or "Budziczek" (a little alarm clock). The real hit of the evening was the proposal on a mural — one of the men decided to use the mural to ask his girlfriend to marry him.
Love declarations could be seen on Friday evening, between 5:50 pm and 9:00 pm. The wishes changed every 10 seconds, so that each one was displayed a dozen times. The best and most interesting of them were awarded — with a double invitation to dinner at "Pod Papugami" restaurant.
"We are very pleased with the action", says Ewa Piechota, the marketing manager of Nowa Papiernia, the organiser of an interactive mural. "We wanted to allow the citizens of Wroclaw to express what they feel on a really large scale, and we have succeeded. We are happy that so many people were not ashamed to talk openly about love".
A virtual Valentine's Day mural is the first project of this kind in our region. The campaign of unusual wishes was organised by Nowa Papiernia, which is engaged in the project of estate of lofts at Oławskie Przedmieście.
