  3. Hall of Games in Centennial Hall

From the 14th till the 16th of November, the Centennial Hall will attract game producers, publishers, distributors and developers and gamedev specialists. They are the addressees of the first edition of Hall of Games 2014 - a computer game fair. Industry enthusiasts will have an opportunities to play new games, become familiar about technological novelties and test a wide array of gaming accessories. Another attraction will be one of the biggest rallies of board games in Poland.

The event will be accompanied by a full range of attractions: the possibility of watching upcoming productions, participating in expert discussion panels and workshops concerning a career in gamedev, an evening e-sports tournament and a night marathon of trailers. Of course, the Cosplay competition will also be held (short for „costume play” – a kind of performance in which participants reproduce costumes, accessories and appearances of characters from games, films or comic strips). Thanks to the Special Education Zone, you can bring your children along to the Centennial Hall; they will be staying in the zone under the guidance of experienced playworkers, while their parents can explore the world of electronic entertainment without limitations.

Hall of Games 2014 will also be an opportunity to present the ”Game about Wroclaw”, a competition for which has been announced by the Impart WROCLAW 2016 Festival Office. Projects of the game have been submitted by 30 entities from the entire Poland, and the winner will be known by the 15th of May 2014.

Hall of Games is a new item on the Polish map of industry events and the most recent part of the business offer of our company. The Centennial Hall along with other partners – local authorities and institutions has high hopes of this computer game fair. Hall of Games is the first step of the Centennial Hall towards the most dynamically growing segment of the entertainment industry,” comments Andrzej Baworowski, President of WP Hala Ludowa Sp. z o.o.

Wroclaw has a long-standing reputation as one of the strongest centres of creative industries. It is home to many major computer game producers and creators of digital animations or special effects. Apart from that, it is the place of active operation of Creativro - a cluster comprising Polish leaders of this dynamically growing sector. It is also worth noting that Wroclaw as the European Capital of Culture 2016 puts much emphasis on the development of co-operation between science, technology and art. In view of this, we think that Hall of Games fits with the policy of our city and we are pleased to take part in the organisation of this event,Ewa Kaucz, Vice-President of the Wroclaw Agglomeration Development Agency (Agencja Rozwoju Aglomeracji Wrocławskiej).
