Polish State Railways (Polskie Koleje Państwowe S.A., PKP) are giving investors more time to collect the information memorandum on Wrocław Świebodzki, a property development project. The new deadline is 15 April.
”We have moved the deadline in response to potential investors’ growing interest and because of our intention to present the project at the property show in Cannes in early March”, stated Bartłomiej Sarna, PKP’s spokesman in Wrocław.
From January, potential partners interested in the development of the Wrocław Świebodzki railway station and the 28 hectares of land that surround it, may come and collect the information memorandum which is a basis for offers of cooperation. According to PKP estimates, the total value of the investment may reach two billion Polish zloty.
The area is highly attractive to investors because of its location – it is situated less than a kilometre away from the city’s Market Square. The railway station building located on the property is a 1843 architectural landmark. After revitalisation, it could become a very prestigious place, an alternative to contemporary commercial buildings.
The property’s another asset, also in terms of commercial potential, is the fact that the station may be reopened for railway transport and turned into a transport hub.
”Potential investors have a chance to work out a comprehensive idea that brings together the opportunities offered by the property’s historical architecture and the land’s potential for rearrangement”, believes Mr Sarna.
Polish State Railways have developed two large property investments recently. Thanks to the company’s collaboration with external partners, the cities of Katowice and Poznań may now boast new railway stations and transport hubs with adjacent shopping centres. Świebocki is the another example of the same type of the project.
